Medtech makers RyMed Technologies and Medical Action Industries are teaming up to distribute IV therapy devices to more hospitals.
Under the terms of the agreement Medical Action will distribute RyMed’s IV technologies, including the company’s line of InVision-Plus connectors, according to a press release. Medical Action is partnered with most of the major group purchasing organizations, amounting to a significant potential reach.
RyMed’s needleless IV connectors remove the medical risks associated with needle-sticks, including bloodstream infections and occlusions. The connectors also feature proprietary zero-fluid-displacement technology that prevents blood reflux into the catheter, according to a press release.
"Medical Action is proud to add the RyMed products to its high-quality IV therapy kit and tray offering," Medical’s minor procedure kit & tray business general manager and president Cindy Bell said in prepared remarks. "Through this agreement, Medical Action is able to provide hospitals with a new and higher level of safety in IV therapy needleless connectors."
