RTI Biologics (NSDQ:RTIX) this week said it inked a supply deal with group purchasing organization Novation for its full line of hernia repair and breast reconstruction biologic surgical implants.
Novation has more than 100,000 healthcare provider members, including affiliates of health services company VHA, UHC, Children’s Hospital Assoc. and Provista, according to a press release.
"We look forward to offering the members served by Novation our complete portfolio of biologic implants for hernia repair and breast reconstruction," RTI president & CEO Brian Hutchison said in prepared remarks.
RTI sells a large number of biologic implants for hernia repair and breast reconstruction, with products including the Fortiva porcine dermis, Tutopatch bovine pericardium, Tutomesh fenestrated bovine pericardium and Cortiva allograft dermis. The implants go through the company’s patented sterilization process before use, which uses low dose gamma irradiation, the company said.
RTI also maintains other supply agreements with companies such as Zimmer (NYSE:ZMH) and Andover, Mass.-based GPO Yankee Alliance Members, among others.
