Miamisburg, Ohio-based Riverain Medical tapped Rich Bares to be its new executive vice president of sales and marketing.
The computer-aided detection firm said Bares will be responsible for its global marketing operation for its chest X-ray and CAD-based detection equipment aimed at early-stage lung cancer.
Bares has more than 25 years in the medical imaging field under his belt, according to a press release, with stints at Acuitec LLC, Agfa Healthcare, GE Healthcare, Toshiba Medical Systems and ISG Technologies.
Riverain won pre- market approval from the Food & Drug Administration (PDF) for an enhanced version of its OnGuard chest X-ray, CAD-based technology in June. The federal watchdog agency granted 510(k) clearance to the company’s SoftView technology (PDF) in March.
