The orthopedic technology company named Larry Hazbun SVP of robotics and Kirstin Widding SVP of hip & knee.
Durham, North Carolina-based Restor3d, a 3D-printed orthopedic implant maker, offers patient-specific, patient-matched, and associated ancillary products. Its expertise is in 3D printing of osseointegrative biomedical materials. The company also offers biomechanics modeling, AI-based planning, and design automation tools.
Restor3d now wants to expand its capabilities into robotics and navigation for the surgical delivery of patient-specific implants. The move aligns with the company’s mission to improve patient care through implant technology. It also positions the company to offer a suite of tools in the future, allowing surgeons to perform patient-specific implant procedures using their preferred method of enabling technology.
In a news release, the company said its expansion helps “push the boundaries of personalized healthcare.”
“As Restor3d continues to integrate these enabling technologies, it reaffirms its dedication to transforming the future of orthopedic surgery and enhancing patient outcomes worldwide,” the company said.

Prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles at Mako Surgical, which Stryker later acquired.
According to Restor3d, Hazbun had a pivotal role in the development of the Mako robotic assisted surgical platform for orthopedic procedures.
Widding joins with extensive experience as a strategic commercial leader in total hip, knee, shoulder and enabling technologies. The company said her track record includes driving revenue growth through integrated marketing, communications, branding and product solutions. She’s held marketing and product management posts at companies including Ortho Development Corp., Exactech, DJO, Abbott, and Smith+Nephew.
Her background includes developing commercialization strategies, strengthening corporate brands and building relationships with surgeons and distributors.
“We welcome the addition of Larry Hazbun… and Kirstin Widding,” said Ken Gall, Restor3d CCO and co-founder. “The addition of robotics and navigation technologies is a natural fit with personalization and a perfect compliment to our patient specific implants. By integrating these enabling technologies with our existing 3D-printed patient specific implants and instruments, Restor3d is poised to offer a more holistic approach to personalized patient treatment.”
