Resonetics hires former Haemonetics executive as director of quality assurance and regulatory affairs

December 4, 2013 By MassDevice Contributors Network

NASHUA, N.H., Nov. 21, 2013 — Resonetics, a leading supplier of polymer laser micromachining services and systems for the life sciences industry, announced that Scott Davis has joined the company as Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. In his new role, Scott will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s quality system and regulatory compliance.

Scott joins the company from Haemonetics, a leading manufacturer of blood processing technology, where he optimized the quality information system for over 1,100 users and coordinated integration of a large acquisition. Prior to Haemonetics, Scott was Director, Corporate Quality at Kiva Systems, a business that grew quickly to 400 employees before being acquired by Amazon. There, he built a quality management system from the ground up, established a Lean Six Sigma training program, and developed a supplier qualification and audit process. Scott also spent 10 years at Symmetricom in various quality roles, including Director, Global Documentation Systems for five manufacturing sites.

Earlier in his career, Scott worked at Lutron Electronics, a world leader in lighting controls, in their mechanical design group. He graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Physics and also received an M.B.A. with highest honors from Babson College. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Regulatory Affairs at Northeastern University. Scott is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt by the American Society of Quality.

“I’m excited to have someone with Scott’s talent and experience join our team,” said Tom Burns, Resonetics CEO. “As we embark upon our next stage of growth, Scott’s leadership will drive our organization forward with leading edge quality practices.”
