Resmed beats Street in Q3, citing heightened CPAP demand

October 30, 2025 By Sean Whooley

Resmed (NYSE: RMD) shares rose slightly today on third-quarter results that came in ahead of the consensus Wall Street forecast.

Shares of RMD ticked up 2.5% to $258.60 apiece in post-market trading today.

The San Diego-based sleep respiratory technology company reported profits of $348.5 million. That equals $2.37 per share on sales of $1.34 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2025.

Resmed recorded an 11.9% bottom-line gain on a sales increase of 9.1%.

Adjusted to exclude one-time items, earnings per share came in at $2.55. That landed 5¢ ahead of expectations on Wall Street. Sales also came in just ahead of expectations as experts projected $1.33 billion in revenue.

Resmed attributed growth to increased demand for its portfolio of sleep devices, masks and accessories. The company develops continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines and other platforms for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Additionally, the company noted an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses (7%), mainly due to additional expenses associated with its VirtuOx acquisition. It also noted impact from employee costs and marketing and technology investments. Resmed also recorded $16 million in restructuring-related charges. Restructuring charges were comprised of employee severance and other one-time termination benefits.

The company unveiled its new branding and strategy earlier this year. Chair and CEO Mick Farrell recently spoke to MassDevice about Resmed’s recent changes and the future.

“Our fiscal year 2026 is off to a strong start, with first-quarter performance reflecting continued progress toward our mission of helping people sleep better, breathe better and live longer and healthier, with care provided in their own home,” said Resmed chair and CEO Mick Farrell. “As we advance through fiscal year 2026, we remain committed to ongoing operational excellence and strategic investment in innovation, ultimately delivering strong, sustainable, profitable growth as we provide access to life-changing care for the billions of people worldwide who need our market-leading healthcare solutions delivered right where they live.”
