The retirement of Buchanan, who’s spent 8 years at the head of the table for the British orthopedics and wound care conglomerate, is slated to be announced alongside Smith & Nephew’s 3rd-quarter earnings report Oct. 31, according to Sky News.
Smith & Nephew is close to selecting a replacement, anonymous sources told Sky.
Ex-EndoSense CEO Keltjens lands at Sapiens
Sapiens Steering Brain Stimulation said it tapped former EndoSense president & CEO Jan Keltjens for the corner office. Keltjens has been in the medical device industry for more than 30 years, leading companies including CryoCath Technologies, AngioDynamics and EndoSense. He will be replacing Sapiens co-founder Sjaak Deckers. Sapiens is a Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) spinout.
Philips Electronics India appoints new CEO
Philips Electronics India named Krishna Kumar as its new managing director & CEO, starting in December. Kumar, the current head of Philips Healthcare business, will be taking over for Rajeev Chopra, who will become global head of the Philips Consumer Luminaire Business Group in Brussels.
Hutchinson named president of Wound Management Technologies – again
Wound Management Technologies (OTC:WNDM) said it named Deborah Jenkins Hutchinson president for a 2nd time. Hutchinson previously served as the wound care company’s president from January 2010 to March 2012, and is taking over for Bob Lutz.

InVivo Therapeutics (OTC:NVIV) appointed Dr. Lou Vaickus as its interim Chief Medical Officer. The ex-president of Akta Pharmaceutical Development, Vaickus will hold in the interim position for a year. Former CMO Dr. Eric Woodard will remain a consultant and advisory board member.
