Intuitive Surgical (NSDQ:ISRG) is yet again growing its Sunnyvale, Calif.-based footprint, having recently purchased old research and office buildings in the area according to a Mercury News report.
The robotic surgical platform maker picked up three low-strung buildings a short distance from its headquarters in Sunnyvale, according to the report.
Intuitive Surgical paid $15.1 million for the three buildings in an all-cash deal, according to the Mercury News, who referenced property records filed on April 30.
The newly acquired facilities span 36,000 square feet but also includes four acres of land beneath the single-story facilities which range in size from 10,000 square feet to 16,000 square feet, according to the report.
Zoning for the property could allow Intuitive to build facilities as large as 119,000 square feet to 170,000 square feet, the Mercury News reports.
In February, a report emerged suggesting that Intuitive Surgical leased two new buildings in Santa Clara, Calif., near its headquarters.
