Automated Blood Collection System and Processing – Processes up to six units of whole blood simultaneously. Each blood unit is automatically separated into a unit of leukoreduced red cells mixed with additive solution, a large volume of leukoreduced plasma, and a whole blood derived platelet unit mixed with additive solution. Complete processing of all 6 units is accomplished within 24 minutes without operator intervention at a rate of 15 units per hour – a 75% reduction in cycle time compared to current manual methods.
A proprietary disposable set is used exclusively with the automated system for blood collection and processing. The disposable set contains all necessary bags, filters, and solutions.
