Philips (NYSE:PHG) and Sectra (OMX:SECTB) renewed a long-standing support agreement, providing Philips support for Sectra’s PACS systems through 2020.
The agreement, in place since 1997, added another 7 years to the existing deal, under which Philips provides service, upgrades and extensions to Sectra PACS solutions.
PACS, the picture archiving and communication system, allows a healthcare organization to capture, store, view and share all types of images internally and externally. Philips provides support to approximately 200 customers that use the Sectra PACS solution, according to the press release.
“As medical imaging technology continues to advance, PACS remains a vital part of our customers’ healthcare informatics infrastructure," Philips patient care & clinical informatics CEO Mike Mancuso said in prepared remarks. "At Philips, we are committed to working alongside Sectra, to provide innovative technology solutions to improve patient outcomes and allow for the best possible service for our shared customers in selected countries."
