Philips (NYSE: PHG) and Getinge announced today that they formed a new commercial partnership to enhance access to a complete anesthesia and monitoring solution.
The agreement combines Philips’ monitoring solutions with Getinge’s leading anesthesia care products. Through this, the companies hope to provide a single point of contact for purchasing and support. They aim to help clinicians deliver high-quality care in the operating room.
Philips says the partnership combines Getinge’s Flow Family anesthesia delivery systems with its IntelliVue patient monitoring technology. It supports smooth data transfer between devices to help ensure compatibility with hospital infrastructure and standardize workflows.
Flow Family machines deliver personalized anesthesia through a series of unique and innovative features. Getinge calls its approach “Dynamic Anesthesia Delivery.” It touts it as a personalized and fine-tuned anesthesia treatment able to meet the individual needs of patients.
IntelliVue systems, meanwhile, deliver continuous monitoring across multiple care settings. They span operating rooms and ICUs to step-down and general care units, including during transport within the hospital. The systems give clinicians a comprehensive overview of patients.
