Paragon 28 announced the launch of its sterile kit for allowing flexibility for surgeons and streamlining procedures in foot and ankle surgery.
All components of the TenoTac soft tissue fixation system are now delivered in a neatly organized kit which can be provided on short notice. Paragon 28 expects the launch to expand accessibility to this solution and eliminate the need for pre-operative sterilization, according to a news release.
The Englewood, Colo.–based company previously launched the TenoTac system in January 2019. The TenoTac system is designed to facilitate tendon transfer correction without releasing tissue attachments distally.
TenoTac is designed to use a titanium threaded implant to fixate soft tissue to bone by holding manual tension over the tendon and bone while the dorsal sleeve of the implant is mated to plantar tack inserted into the bone tunnel. The two components are threaded together to capture the tendon plantarly.
The small incision made in the process is designed to avoid the weight-bearing surface and facilitate implantation, resulting in less swelling, pain and scarring compared to traditional approaches.
