Owlet wins CE mark for Dream Sock infant monitoring tech

Owlet announced that it received CE mark approval for its Dream Sock device for monitoring the vital signs of infants.

The over-the-counter Dream Sock delivers real-time health insights with medical-grade accuracy for at-home infant care. It received FDA clearance in November 2023. Owlet also raised $9 million to support its technology earlier this year.

With CE mark, the Lehi, Utah-based company plans to expand its medical device product portfolio around the world.

Dream Sock comfortably wraps around a baby’s foot and monitors and displays live health readings and provides health notifications. Readings include pulse rate and oxygen saturation level, while lights and alarms signal when readings fall outside of preset ranges. Its connected Owlet Dream App delivers live readings directly to a mobile device and nearby base station.

Owlet plans to launch Dream Sock throughout Germany, France and the UK this spring. It expects other European countries to follow thereafter.

“Our mission to be there for every parent and every baby becomes even more realized with the European medical certification for Dream Sock,” said Kurt Workman, Owlet CEO and co-founder. “Parents throughout Europe will soon have access to the most innovative, consumer-friendly, medical-grade, smart baby monitoring technology so they can be more empowered to provide care from the comfort of their homes.”
