Owens & Minor (NYSE:OMI) announced today that it is changing its name to Accendra Health to reflect its future organizational focus.
Richmond, Virginia–based Owens & Minor said it expects the change to go into effect on Dec. 31, 2025. The name change only affects the name of the parent corporation. Shares of OMI are expected to begin trading on the NYSE under the “ACH” ticker on Jan. 2, 2026. On that date, the company plans to launch a new website.
The change comes as the company separates its Products & Healthcare Services segment. Owens & Minor opted to sell the unit to Platinum Equity, a private equity firm, for $375 million as part of a strategy aimed at optimizing its business, leveraging the company’s Patient Direct platform. Patient Direct delivers home-based care for patients with chronic conditions.
Rebranding enables the company to better demonstrate its strategic direction and future organizational focus as a leader in the home-based care market, Owens & Minor said in a news release. It intends to continue to use and operate under its Apria and Byram Healthcare brands.
“The renaming of our organization is another milestone in the strategic transformation of our company as a leading, pure play home-based care business that puts the patient first while consistently delivering long-term profitable growth. Our commitment to providing the highest-quality offerings to patients throughout the country remains unchanged. By becoming Accendra Health, we mark the next exciting chapter in our evolution as a company,” said Edward A. Pesicka, Owens & Minor president & CEO.
