Orthofix International NV lured a Stryker Corp. executive away from Kalamazoo, Mich., to lead its spinal implants division.
The MicKinney, Texas-based orthopedic device maker (which has operations in Boston) said it tapped Kevin Unger as president of the division.
Unger spent 14 years at Stryker, serving the last five years as vice president and general manager of its MedSurg division, which he helped create.
Orthofix posted net income of $5.9 million on sales of $137.6 million during the second quarter, up 5.8 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively, over the same period last year.
