- NxStage Medical adds Yale professor to scientific advisory board
NxStage Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTM) announced the appointment of Alan Kliger to the Lawrence, Mass.-based company’s scientific advisory board.Kliger is well known in the nephrology field for chairing the steering committee for the Frequent Hemodialysis Network trial funded by the National Institute of Health and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a long-term study that documented how increasing hemodialysis to six times a week from the current standard of three times a week improved cardiovascular health and patient quality-of-life.
Kliger is currently a clinical professor of medicine at Yale University’s school of medicine and chief medical officer at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Conn.

The Cooper Companies Inc. (NYSE:COO) announced several management changes last week, starting with the retirement of the company’s senior VP and CFO Eugene Midlock. He will hand over duties to a yet-unnamed successor on December 16, 2011.The company also announced a shuffled the deck for several other executives, including Carol Kaufman who was bumped up to executive VP from senior VP, in addition to her roles as secretary and chief administrative officer for the Pleasanton, Calif.-based company.
Albert White III added the role of chief strategic officer to his existing titles as VP of investor relations and treasurer.
Daniel McBride added chief risk officer to his existing roles as VP and general counsel. Gregory Matz, currently VP and CFO, also became VP of finance.
