
NxStage Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTM) announced a five-year distribution deal for its home hemodialysis products with French renal care company Theradial today.
The contract allows Theradial to provide NxStage’s System One and PureFlow dialysate preparation system to dialysis centers to its eight dialysis centers throughout France. Theradial also retains the option to sell NxStage’s Medisystems ButtonHole needles to their customers.
Lawrence, Mass.-based NxStage has been marching across the globe over the past few years, including a Scandinavian deal in Feb. 2010, a Dutch deal in March 2010, an Italian deal in July 2010 and a New Zealand deal in May of this year, among others.
NxStage’s Japanese distribution deal with Kawasumi Laboratories Inc., which was signed in May 2008, didn’t get renewed this year and set to expire in January 2012.

- CareFusion and ResMed come together over ventilation
CareFusion Corp. (NYSE:CFN) and ResMed (NYSE:RMD) announced a five-year distribution deal giving CareFusion the exclusive right to sell ResMed’s Stellar 100 and 150 non-invasive ventilators and accessories to U.S. hospitals.
"CareFusion will now have a more competitive offering in the institutional NIV market, which is expected to grow by more than 6 percent annually," according to a press release.
The portable, battery-powered ventilators work for both invasive and non-invasive uses for adults or children, and include monitoring features to manage leak and patient-ventilator synchrony.

Hospital group purchasing organization Premier Inc. signed on Covidien plc (NYSE:COV) and Medline Industries Inc. to provide incontinence products to certain levels of its membership of more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals and more than 75,000 other health care sites. The deals become effective Aug. 1, 2011.
