NxStage Medical (NSDQ:NXTM) extended a supply agreement with B. Braun Medical to supply the Bethlehem, Pa.-based company with its Streamline blood tubing sets, Medisystems MasterGuard and Buttonhole needles.
The contract was originally signed by the 2 companies in October 2004 and calls for NxStage to supply tubing sets B. Braun Medical’s Dialog and Dialog+ hemodialysis systems.

"This agreement validates the excellent performance of Medisystems’ Streamline blood tubing sets and demonstrates our continued commitment to provide B. Braun customers with market leading products," Mark Florence, Medisystems VP & general manager said in prepared remarks.
Under the new deal, which has been extended through 2014, B. Braun will continue provide sales, marketing and clinical support to U.S. customers. Terms of the deal were not announced.
NxStage has been on a world supply tour with its blood tubing technology.
The Lawrence, Mass.-based renal products maker signed contracts with prominent U.K. medical device distributor Kimal plc and Japanese company Asahi Kesei Kuraray Medical in 2009, Scandinavian distribution firm, Norbid Medcom AB and Italian firm Spindial S.p.A. in 2010, French renal care company Theradia in July 2011.
NxStage announced a decision not to renew one of its key supplier agreements for the blood tubing sets distributed by its Medisystems subsidiary. The deal with Kawasumi Laboratories Inc. is set to expire Jan. 31, 2012.
