NxStage Medical (NSDQ:NXTM) debuted 3 new products this week during the American Society of Nephrology’s Annual Kidney Week 2013.
The Lawrence, Mass-based medical device company trotted out its System One S, the next generation of NxStage’s System One. It features higher dialysate flow rates, allowing for a wider range of flexible therapy options.
NxStage also revealed its Nx2me Connected Health technology, a system focused through the Nx2me app, leveraging tablets, cloud computing and wireless communications to collect System One data in addition to patient information like blood pressure and weight. Patients can review, confirm, and transmit this data to their centers after each treatment.
The device maker also touted its NxStage dosing calculator, an online tool used to individualize prescriptions for patients, displaying a wide range based on the input data. The calculator is designed to reduce nephrologist time in calculating and assessing hundreds of possible prescription options to achieve clinical goals, according to the press release.
“I’m very proud of our continued commitment to innovation and our ability to bring new products to market," CEO Jeffrey Burbank said in prepared remarks. "We are really excited about the potential of these enhancements to improve both ease of use of our therapy and efficiency for providers, clinicians, and most importantly, our patients."
