
NuVasive says goodbye to global sales pres
NuVasive (NSDQ:NUVA) global sales president Jeff Rydin will leave the company effectively on March 31, 2013. Rydin, who joined the company in 2005, will "execute a smooth transition and continue contributing for years to come as a consultant to the company," he said in a prepared statement.
Rydin was previously area VP of orthobiologics for Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Spine, and VP of sales at Orquest. He also worked at Symphonix Devices, which was later acquired by Tyco International.
"Jeff has been an important member of the senior executive team and we are all supporting him in his decision to transition from the company,” said chairman & CEO Alex Lukianov, who will take over U.S. sales until the company finds a replacement for Rydin. “His hard work and dedication throughout the years to build our global sales force will continue to pay dividends as we move forward. I am excited that Jeff has agreed to a long-term consulting position and will continue to work with members of the executive team for several years."
The company will begin a search for Jeff’s replacement, Lukianov added. Lukianov handed international sales to Russell Powers in addition to his duties in product marketing, development, and operations. Powers previously worked at Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) Sofamor Danek before join NuVasive.
Later this month NuVasive plans to announce its 3rd quarter revenue and earnings details, as well as provide a general outlook for 2013. The company moved its earnings release date to Wednesday, Oct. 24, before the North American Spine Society’s annual meeting in Dallas, Texas.

Misonix CEO signs new deal
Ultrasonic medical device company Misonix (NSDQ:MSON) re-upped with president & CEO Michael McManus for another year at an annual base salary of $283,250 plus bonuses.
McManus joined in the company on October 30, 1998, prior to which he was president & CEO of New York Bancorp and Jamcor Pharmaceuticals. McManus also worked as an assistant to President Ronald Reagan from 1982 to 1985.

Sirona Dental Systems extends president’s contract
Sirona Dental Systems (NSDQ:SIRO) renewed its employment contract with president Jeffrey Slovin, extending his relocation to Bensheim, Germany to March 31, 2013. Slovin will also take over responsibility for the company’s U.S. business from CEO Jost Fischer.
Slovin joined the company in 2006 and has been president since September 20, 2010. He was previously COO at Schick Technologies and worked at Greystone & Co., Sommerset Realty Investment Corp, Fidelity Investments Co. and Bear Stearns & Co.
