Engineering software developer nTopology announced that it collected $40 million in a Series C financing round.
Insight Partners led the financing, with participation from Grant Verstandig and existing investors Root, Canaan, DCVC and Haystack. Josh Fredberg of Insight Partners will be joining New York-based nTopology’s board of directors as well, according to a news release.
Through developing the nTop platform, nTopology says it is looking to offer 3D printing software that eliminates bottlenecks in modeling technology and offers engineers an adaptable way to design transformative products.
The nTop platform is built upon an implicit modeling engine designed to overcome limitations of traditional modeling approaches by handling highly complex geometries. It also includes a field-driven design with control over spatial variations of shape and reusable workflows, the company said.
According to the release, engineers in the medical and aerospace industries are currently adopting and deploying the advanced manufacturing that is helped by the tools within the nTop platform, and the company expects that the latest round of funding will help to make the software available to all.
