Nordson Corp. (NSDQ:NDSN) said today it completed its acquisition of St. Paul, Minn.-based Micromedics Inc.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Micromedics extends Nordson’s expertise in precision dispensing technology and adds to our growing suite of applications in the expanding medical device and life sciences market. The company is an ideal fit with Nordson’s strategy of acquiring high performing market leaders with differentiated technology and significant recurring revenue." Nordson CEO Michael Hilton said in prepared remarks.
Founded in 1982, Micromedics makes a key technology called FibriJet, a single- and dual-syringe surgical device that can deliver biomaterials to a location to control bleeding and heal wounds.
Nordson said Micromedics’ other businesses, including products relating to ear, nose and throat, and surgical instrument protection, would be spun off into a separate company called Summit Medical Inc.
