
Nonin Medical Inc. renamed its Swedish subsidiary, MedAir AB, to Nonin Medical AB as it expanded the location’s administrative support.
The Minneapolis-based physiological monitoring device maker said the the new center facilitates the company’s European distribution in addition to expanding its technical and customer service.
Nonin acquired Hudiksvall, Sweden-based capnography manufacturing company MedAir AB in 2006. The new expansion allows the company to transfer the burden of its European customers from its Minneapolis headquarters, according to a press release.
The sales and administrative changes also mean Nonin will now manufacture all of its U.S. capnography products in Minneapolis, with some exceptions. Nonin said it will continue to manufacture its full line of noninvasive physiological monitoring products in the Twin Cities, with the exception of its European capnography products. The company will also continue to serve all of its OEM customers from its hometown.
The company recently announced the launch of a new wrist-worn pulse oximeter called the WristOx2 that can transmit recorded readings via Bluetooth to a computer or smartphone. The watch-like monitor employ’s a fingertip pulse oximeter, which the company invented.
