IT and medical technology company Sectra (OMX:SECTB) landed a spot as a preferred radiology services supplier for Salisbury, Wight and South Hampshire Domain NHS Trust consortium in the U.K.
The SWASH consortium other preferred suppiers include HSS for radiology information system, Sectra for picture archiving and communication system and Philips (NYSE:PHG) for vendor neutral archiving, hosting and data sharing, according to the press release.
"As we are a clinically led consortium, we understand the issues that the NHS has with regards to transferring patient information between hospitals," SWASH clinical lead Dr Mark Griffiths said in prepared remarks. "Our intention is to have all of the services running by July 2013, then we will look to join up with other local services in deploying a sharing environment."
Sectra will publish more information after inking the deal.
In a seperate release, Group purchasing organization Premier healthcare alliance signed a new contract with BioVigil Hygiene Technologies LLC of Ann Arbor, Mich., for its hand hygiene monitoring systems, effective November 1, 2012.
