Switzerland-based insulin delivery devices maker CeQur named medtech veteran Douglas Lawrence its new CEO, replacing James Peterson.
Lawrence has spent more than 25 years in the medical device industry, most recently as vice president of the insulin injection business at Becton, Dickinson’s (NYSE:BDX) diabetes arm.
CeQur hopes Lawrence will help navigate the company through the ramp-up of international commercial efforts for the PaQ insulin delivery device.
"Doug Lawrence has the ideal experience, perspective and leadership skills to guide CeQur as the company moves rapidly through manufacturing scale-up and into broad commercialization of the PaQ Insulin Delivery Device," CeQur chairman Erik Milledge said in prepared remarks. "Importantly, he has proven ability to successfully launch diabetes devices in multiple markets, and understands the needs of those who have diabetes, those who treat the disease, and the companies that support them."
Former CEO Peterson will stay with the company as the chairman of the board of directors.
