The New Hampshire Bio/Medical Council recognized two medical device companies for special merit during its second annual awards dinner.
Phase II Medical Manufacturing Inc., a contract manufacturer out of Rochester, N.H., was named the “Up & Coming” company of the year by the council.
Phase II, which was founded in 1995, has seen robust growth over the past year, according to John Ducaji, the company’s sales & marketing manager.
“We’ve grown our employee base by 65 percent over the past year, and we’ve done that in a very challenging economy,” he told MassDevice.”We’ve done that by forming strategic partnerships and by having employees who we believe are the best in the contract medical device assembly field.”
Ducaji noted that there are more than 140 companies in the biotech and medical fields in the Granite state and that singled out by the council for recognition was a tremendous honor for the firm.
Atrium Medical Corp., of Hudson, N.H., was named “business of the year” by the council.
Atrium, which was founded in 1981, makes a wide range of products for the treatment of cardiovascular disease such as stents and chest drainage devices.
The ceremony was held Oct. 14.
