
Neuravi successfully completes Series A financing
Irish medical device company Neuravi Limited successfully completed a Series A financing round for $6.5 million (€5.2 million).
The financial round, led by Fountain Healthcare Partners and Delta Partners, will help further Neuravi’s development of a device that retrieves clots, potentially helping lower rates of ischemic stroke.

Lakewood, Colo.-based Terumo BCT won a grant worth $3.5 million from the U.S. Defense Dept. and the U.S. Army Medical Research & Materiel Command.
The grant will support continued investigation in the company’s Mirasol for Whole Blood system, which aims to reduce the rates of pathogen transmission in blood in order to reduce the spread of infectious diseases as well as adverse reactions to white blood cell-related transfusions.

MicroTransponder, a Dallas, Tex.-based company, raised $2 million to continue development of its Serenity System, an implanted device-based drug therapy for tinnitus.
In addition, the company also reported positive early clinical results for the wireless therapy system currently being tested for tinnitus patients.
