Los Angeles-based Nervonik develops technology for peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) for treating chronic pain. It plans to use proceeds to support the continued development and commercialization of its PNS technology. That includes the further development of its proprietary sensing capabilities. The funds add to a $13 million Series A announced in March 2025.
Nervonik’s device applies highly controlled electrical currents to peripheral nerves to modulate pain signals and provide pain relief. Its leads connect to miniaturized implantable pulse generators (IPGs) powered by a small, programmable wearable device. The device can deliver customized stimulation parameters for each patient through a dedicated app to achieve optimal effectiveness.
Using real-time physiological feedback, the company’s PNS system enhances personalization and efficacy. Early data, including from a first-in-human clinical study completed in 2024, demonstrated the successful recording of evoked compound action potentials (ECAPS) and other biomarkers using implantable leads. Nervonik said its technology positions it “at the forefront of next-generation bioelectronic medicine.”
Amzak Health led the latest financing for Nervonik. Elevage Medical Technologies, U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), Lumira Ventures, Foothill Ventures and Shangbay Capital participated, too.
“Nervonik is building a fundamentally differentiated neuromodulation platform that integrates stimulation with advanced sensing to deliver more precise and personalized therapy,” said Aydin Babakhani, CEO and founder of Nervonik. “This financing enables us to accelerate our clinical programs, prepare for commercialization, and bring a truly intelligent, next-generation therapy to the patients who need it most.”
