Spinal Elements inks Firefly deal with Might Oak Medical
The system uses bone models and guides matched to the patient’s anatomy through pre-surgical planning and computer-designed guidance solutions. Mighty Oak Medical uses data from the patient’s CT scan to make patient-specific, 3D-printed, pedicle screw guides.
Although navigation is becoming more popular among surgeons, robotic-assisted systems can be expensive and inaccessible for smaller facilities. Mighty Oak Medical said it hopes that using patient-specific, 3D-printed guides will become the preferred course of treatment for surgeons.
