Mindray Medical (NYSE:MR) chief Li Xiting will share the corner office, so to speak, with new co-CEO Cheng Minghe, who takes the new title in addition to continuing as the company’s chief strategic officer.
Cheng is one of the founders of the Shenzhen, China-based company, and has worked in various roles since 1991.
"I am very excited about Mr. Cheng’s appointment as the co-CEO," Li said in a statement, “His extensive experience and exceptional leadership skills made him an ideal candidate for this role. I look forward to him joining me in fulfilling our company’s vision and mission in the future."
Mindray is making additional changes to its executive team, with former VP Wang Jianxin taking over as administrative chief and former deputy CFO May Li moving up to chief investment officer.
Biolase promotes director to COO
Biolase (NSDQ:BLTI) director Dr. Alexander Arrow joined the dental laser company’s chief executive team as COO. Before Biolase Arrow worked in a variety of medtech fields, from neurological device company Circuit Therapeutics to cardiology device maker Arstasis to global investment bank Lazard.
The company recently quashed rumors of CEO Federico Pignatelli’s imminent departure in a statement to concerned investors.

Bone-healing company Bioventus names a new medical chief
Dr. Peter Heeckt, founder of compliance firm Life Sciences Consulting Services LLC, was named CMO of Bioventus.
Heeckt formerly worked as CMO for Smith & Nephew (NYSE:SNN), which used to control Bioventus before the British orthopedic giant last year struck a deal with venture capital firm Essex Woodlands to spin the subsidiary out into a separate venture. Heeckt will set up shop in the company’s Memphis, Tenn. office.

New CEO of InnoMed will oversee Mergenet and Respcare
Ron Richard is stepping into the corner office at InnoMed Technologies, where he will also oversee sister companies Mergenet Medical and Respcare Inc.
Richard most recently worked as CEO of the American division of REKA Health, and he has launched 25 products and holds 6 patents for sleep and respiratory products, according to a press release.
"As an unarguable heavyweight in the industry, Mr. Richard will bring tremendous value and momentum," Shara Hernandez, Mergenet CEO, said in a company announcement.

SinuSys brings on 3 new senior managers
Palo Alto, Calif.-based device company SinuSys Corp. brought on 3 new senior managers as part of a push for global commercialization around its 510(k)-hopeful sinus dilation system.
Michael Daniel joined as acting VP of regulatory, Eric Schaefer as director of commercial development and Sagar Pushpala as operations advisor.
CEO Thomas Schreck said each new hire will play an important role in the company’s efforts for a U.S. launch of its sinus system, currently approved in Canada and Australia.
