
MASSDEVICE ON CALL — Medical device titan Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) released an early quarterly dividend, calling the measure a "shareholder-friendly decision."
The company’s board approved a 26¢-per-share cash dividend for Medtronic’s common stock, to be paid December 28.
The company hoped to stem any potential changes to taxes on dividend payments that may develop as Congress navigates the so-called "fiscal cliff" negotiations, according to the Star Tribune.
