Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) announced that it began the U.S. launch of its Adaptix interbody system with Titan nanoLOCK surface technology.
Fridley, Minn.-based Medtronic touts Adaptix as the first navigated titanium implant with Titan nanoLOCK surface technology, which is a proprietary blend of surface textures on the macro, micro and nano levels, according to a news release.
Adaptix includes improved features for increased strength, subsidence resistance, easy insertion and data-backed bone growth, Medtronic said. It’s the company’s first 3D-printed titanium implant incorporating the Titan nanoLock technology, which Medtronic added when it completed a buyout of Titan Spine last year.
The company said the Adaptix system addressed the universal needs of fusion outcomes for surgeons while offering science-backed nano-surface technology and navigation efficiency within a trusted design with enhanced features.
“Adaptix Interbody System is an exciting addition to our portfolio that leads with our Titan nanoLOCK surface technology,” Medtronic core spine & biologics division GM Sharrolyn Josse said in the release. “It is a fully navigated procedure, leveraging our leadership in navigation.”
