MassDevice.com looked at some of the most talked-about medical device companies, based on trends in U.S. Google searches for the last 30 days.
Medical device titan Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) regained its seat at the top in September, making headlines with news of a possible deadly brain disease outbreak in Massachusetts that forced the company to track some rented neurosurgical tools.
Covidien (NYSE:COV) took the 2nd-place ribbon, having released its fiscal 2014 outlook and announced some layoffs in the near future. Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) jumped up to 3rd place with a warning on some implant batteries, a new Wall Street high and some legal announcements.
St. Jude Medical (NYSE:STJ) rejoined the list with European Union approval for its next-generation renal denervation system and some good news from sponsored companies. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) rounded out the top 5, mostly on news from its DePuy Synthes subsidiary.
