No women, no one over 40: Former employee accuses Minn. medtech firm of hiring bias

Minnesota-based PMT Medical came under fire after a former employee accused leadership of implementing discriminatory hiring practices that excluded women and candidates over the age of 40.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit after doing some digging into the allegations and finding out that there were no female sales reps hired at PMT Medical between Jan. 1, 2007, through late in the year in 2010. There were at least 70 men hired during that time, according to a commission report. Read more
Hologic CFO steps down, new COO steps in and SVPs step up

Women’s health company Hologic made some changes to its leadership, preparing to bid farewell to its CFO, naming a new COO and making some changes among its senior vice presidents.
Hologic announced the impending retirement of Glenn Muir as the company’s CFO, finance & administration executive vice president, assistant treasurer and assistant secretary. Muir has been with the company since 1988 and became CFO in 1992. He agreed to stick around until the end of November to help select and transition to a new finance chief. Read more
IsoRay mourns death of vice-chair Robert Kauffman | Personnel Moves

Radiation therapy devices maker IsoRay (AMEX:ISR) announced the sudden death of company vice-chairman Robert Kauffman, who passed away on March 7.
Kauffman had been with the company since 2005 and was named vice-chairman in 2008. IsoRay is looking to fill the hole he left behind, but there are no immediate nominations or arrangements, according to an IsoRay regulatory filing. Read more
InVivo Therapeutics sues ex-CEO Reynolds

InVivo Therapeutics said it’s suing former CEO Frank Reynolds, who stepped down last year citing health reasons, alleging that he ran up $500,000 worth of "personal and/or exorbitant expenses."
Cambridge, Mass.-based InVivo said the lawsuit, filed in November 2013 in a Massachusetts state court, accuses Reynolds of “breaches of fiduciary duties, breach of contract, conversion, misappropriation of corporate assets, unjust enrichment, corporate waste.” Read more
