In addition to Pigott’s retirement, the company announced promotions for Amanda Laabs and Steve Miller. Laabs, currently EVP, Medline Brand, moves to the post of chief product officer. Miller, currently EVP, Supply Chain, received a promotion to the role of COO. Both promotions go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
Pigott joined the company in 1992 and served in a variety of leadership roles. He became president and COO in October 2023, following the retirement of Jim Abrams. This came amid a series of moves at the top for Medline, as the company also had longtime executive Jim Boyle take over as CEO at the same time
“Jim Pigott has been instrumental to our success as a company, and his leadership has helped Medline accelerate its growth and expand its impact in meaningful ways,” said Boyle. “We are appreciative of Jim staying on through the transition next year, and we wish him all the best in the next chapter.”
Laabs joined Medline in 2006 and has since held a series of escalating product management leadership roles. She assumed her post as EVP, Medline Brands, in 2023. As the company’s first chief product officer, her responsibilities include leading all product divisions, as well as international markets and the global sourcing organization.
Miller took on the position of EVP, Supply Chain, in 2022. He previously oversaw Walmart’s fulfillment operations and held global senior management roles at Goodyear and Kimberly-Clark. As COO, the company plans for him to continue to lead supply chain operations and add IT, inventory management and quality to his leadership portfolio.
“Amanda and Steve are the absolute right choice to help lead Medline into the future,” said Boyle. “They both bring a wealth of knowledge, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a steady hand to leadership – and most importantly, a keen focus on the customer and a commitment to developing a world-class team here at Medline.”
