Medicare may have paid $4.2M to penis pump fraud scheme | MassDevice.com On Call

MASSDEVICE ON CALL — A Kansas-based company may have racked up more than $4 million in inappropriate payments related to Pos-T-Vac penis pump devices, a federal audit reported.

The Dept. of Health & Human Services reviewed 100 Pos-T-Vac Medicare claims, finding that more than half contained issues that amounted to more than $18,000 in improper payments.

Extrapolated to the total number of claims, that could add at up to nearly $4.2 million for the devices, which are known as "male vacuum erection systems," the Washington Times reported.
