A group of American medical device manufacturers joined to launch a Japanese trade council, the American Medical Devices and Diagnostics Manufacturers’ Assn.
The group, which represents the Japanese operations of companies including Boston Scientific Corp., Medtronic, Smith & Nephew, Zimmer, Edwards Lifesciences, Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories and Cardinal Health, was formed to lobby the Japanese government on behalf of the companies’ interests.
