MassDevice.com looked at some of the most talked-about medical device companies, based on trends in U.S. Google searches for the last 30 days.

There was plenty of chatter in medtech during the last month, with medical device heavyweight Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) leading the way as the most-talked about company in the space, with regulatory wins at home and abroad, progress in patent infringement and product liability lawsuits and more.

Massachusetts medical device maker Covidien (NYSE:COV) jumped up to the 2nd-place spot, with just a couple of big headlines about a spat with Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) and a hernia mesh product that’s hit some hard time.

Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) followed close behind a clutch of stories surrounding some dramatic turns surrounding the 2013 conference of the American College of Cardiologists.

Aesthetics devices maker Allergan (NYSE:AGN) took the 4th spot with news of an upcoming FDA panel date, and healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson rounded out the top 5 with high-profile lawsuits, financial shifts an FDA panel date and a stealthy acquisition.
