Med-tech trends: The most talked about medical device companies for July 2012

MassDevice.com looked at some of the most talked-about medical device companies, based on trends in U.S. Google searches for the last 30 days.

Medical device titan Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) won gold, spending another month at the top of the internet chatter hierarchy for another month as CEO Omar Ishrak celebrated his 1-year anniversary and group purchasing organization Novation’s CEO looks back on last year’s split.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) took silver with news of its latest quarterly earnings and CEO Alex Gorsky’s take on emerging markets.

Covidien (NYSE:COV) and St. Jude Medical (NYSE:STJ) followed behind with their own earnings reports as well as news of recalls and warnings on the cardiac rhythm management market. Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) rounded out the top 5 with a clutch of news on product approvals and a tragic slump in stock value following a difficult quarter.
