MassMEDIC announces board additions

MassMedic new logoThe Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC) today announced the appointment of eight new members to its board of directors.

Joseph Ferrara, Michelle Fox, Brent Fullerton, Chris Killburn-Peterson, Jaydeo Kinikar, Sonal Patel, Stacey Pugh and Adam Sachs have all joined the MassMEDIC board.

“We are honored to welcome our new members to our Board of Directors to further the mission of saving and improving the lives of patients everywhere through medical technology,” MassMEDIC President Brian Johnson said in a news release. “Their dedication to continuous improvement of our healthcare ecosystem in Massachusetts and New England, paired with their industry expertise, will strengthen our community built on collaboration and collaborative success.”  

Ferrara serves as chief innovation officer at Veranex and holds more than 25 years of experience in the medtech industry. Fox, who is CMO at Teleflex, offers vast experience in clinical affairs and leadership.

Fullerton, the senior director and site lead for Medtronic’s Danvers, Massachusetts campus, holds expertise in large manufacturing site leadership, acquisition integration and more as a veteran of more than 30 years in medtech. Killburn-Peterson offers experience in global marketing, innovation, strategy, product and program management as the VP of U.S. sales & marketing for Depuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine.

Kinikar holds over two decades of leadership experience across roles at GE, Philips and Best Buy Health, the latter of which he still leads as VP of virtual care strategy & offerings. Patel has spent close to 20 years in business development, strategy and marketing roles in medtech and currently serves as VP of corporate business development and strategy at Hologic.

Pugh, the chief commercial officer at Butterfly Network, has more than 15 years of experience in medical device research, development and commercialization.

Sachs, CEO of Vicarious Surgical, is an MIT-trained roboticist aiming to revolutionize minimally invasive surgery through proprietary surgical robots.

In addition to the board appointments, MassMEDIC also announced new staff members Kayla Fasken and Nichole Wenderlich Owens. Fasken is the director of community engagement and Wenderlich Owens is the director of marketing and communications.

“We are excited that Kayla and Nichole have joined the MassMEDIC team to bolster the impact we can have in support of the New England medical device community,” MassMEDIC COO Rachel Robinson said. “These two new positions will allow us to support our membership more effectively and bring our offerings to the next level.”
