3. Ex-Stryker CFO Hartman wins CEO job at ConMed
ConMed said today that it’s taken the “interim” from CEO Curt Hartman’s title, making the ex-Stryker CFO (and, for a time, interim CEO) its permanent chief executive.

2. Biolase lands $35m private placement
Dental laser maker Biolase said in landed a $35 million private placement with a group of investors that includes its chairman, CEO and top stockholders.
Biolase on Nov. 7 sold roughly 14.2 million shares at $2.39 apiece, along with warrants to purchase up to 9.2 million additional shares at an exercise price of $4 a share. The warrants expire Nov. 7, 2017. Read more
1. Medicare OKs coverage of high-risk CT lung screening
Preventive low-dose CT screening for patients at high risk for lung cancer would be covered by federal health insurance, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services proposed today.
CMS said it would cover the annual screenings for patients ages 55 to 74 with at least 30 “pack-years” of smoking history, current smokers or smokers who quit in the last 15 years. Read more
