3. Abbott, GE Healthcare ink afib deal
Abbott and General Electric said they inked a deal to integrate a pair of technologies designed to detect and map atrial fibrillation.
The deal calls for Abbott to integrate GE Healthcare’s CardioLab electrophysiology recording system into the RhythmView mapping software it acquired when it bought Topera Medical last year. Read more

Sorin Group and Cyberonics revealed the roster that will lead the company once their $1.4 million merger is consummated.

1. Feds clear Masimo in Pronto, Pronto-7 probe
Masimo said that federal prosecutors cleared the company and its employees in a probe launched last year into some of its patient monitoring devices.
Almost exactly a year ago, Irvine, Calif.-based Masimo said the office of the U.S. attorney for central California issued a subpoena requesting “documents related to our Pronto and Pronto-7 products. Certain of the company’s current and former employees also received subpoenas. Read more
