3. MiMedx reveals subpoena, lawsuits against rivals, beefs with FDA
MiMedx said it received a subpoena over sales and marketing of its regenerative biomaterial products and bioimplants made from human amniotic membrane. The Georgia company also disclosed a lawsuit against a rival it accuses of unfair business practices and a beef with the FDA over proposed new regulations.
First, the civil subpoena: MiMedx said it received the document from the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Health & Human Services Dept. as part of a probe into its sales and marketing practices. Read more
2. Medtronic shareholders also OK Covidien deal
Medtronic said that its shareholders followed Covidien’s in approving their $43 billion merger proposal, setting the stage for the deal to close in a few weeks.
Medtronic said shareholders owning roughly 75.2% of its stock voted to approve the mega-deal today in Minnesota, a few hours after a similar announcement from Covidien. Read more

Boston Scientific revealed that co-founder and chairman Peter Nicholas plans to step down from the board in 2017.
Nicholas, who led the company for 20 years as CEO, founded Boston Scientific with John Abele in 1979. Read more
