5. 1st Circuit denies Biolitec in Angiodynamics spat
The 1st Circuit Court last week denied German medical laser maker Biolitec‘s challenge to a Massachusetts federal court ruling which found for AngioDynamics and set possible contempt sanctions against Biolitec.

4. Masimo wins $36m Defense Dept. contract
Masimo won a contract from the U.S. Defense Dept. worth nearly $36 million for its pulse oximeters.
The 5-year deal calls for Irvine, Calif.-based Masimo to provide the devices to the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. Read more
3. Unilife plunges after canceling earnings call on ex-CEO’s possible ‘violations’
Unilife shares plunged this morning after it canceled an earnings conference call due to its discovery of possible company policy and legal “violations” by former chairman & CEO Alan Shortall.
Shortall, who left the company in March along with COO Ramin Mojdeh, was elevated to chairman in 2013. Read more

1. HRS 2016 roundup: Leadless pacers at the fore
Medtronic and St. Jude Medical, aiming to distinguish their respective leadless pacemaker offerings, presented new data last week in San Francisco at the Heart Rhythm Society’s annual meeting.
St. Jude said a subset of data from the Leadless II trial showed that its Nanostim device was was successfully retrieved in 14 patients up to 3.2 years after implantation, with no serious adverse events. Read more
