Becton Dickinson & Co. and expert consultation firm Guidepoint said today they are partnering to help provide Guidepoint’s expert network services to select healthcare startups.
Through the arrangement, Guidepoint will arrange consultations between selected healthcare entrepreneurs and experts in their fields, the companies said. The advisors will be either members of Guidepoint’s 225,000 person network or custom-recruits. Read more
Cardiovascular Systems said it won FDA 510(k) clearance for its ViperWire advance peripheral guide wire with flex tip for use with peripheral orbital atherectomy systems, used to treat peripheral artery disease.
The next-generation ViperWire has reduced tip stiffness and comparable torque transfer, as well as improved trackability through the peripheral arteries, the St. Paul, Minn.-based company said. Read more
Medical device companies are reportedly boosting their guarantees to hospital customers, seeking to bolster flagging sales growth and downward price pressure, offering to compensate them if their devices fail to perform.
Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson and St. Jude Medical are among the 1st to provide the newer guarantees, some of which offer to share in the cost of follow-up treatment tied to their heart devices, company executives told Reuters.
