Massachusetts Life Sciences Center CEO Travis McCready is reportedly stepping down from his role with the industry group to join an early-stage healthcare startup.
A report in the Boston Business Journal revealed that McCready’s rumored exit was confirmed by a Mass. Life Sciences Center spokesperson, who said McCready’s resignation is effective as of today, but could not offer information on his new role with the unnamed startup. He was appointed CEO of the center by Gov. Charlie Baker in September 2015.
According to the report, the center appointed Timothy McGourthy as its acting president & CEO. McGourthy has held the role of deputy secretary in the state’s Executive Office of Housing & Economic Development since February 2019 after he had worked as executive director of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau since 2014.
