The Mass. Life Sciences Center doled out $24 million worth of tax incentives to 30 life science companies in the Bay State, aimed at fostering the creation of 1,000 new jobs here.
The center‘s Life Sciences Tax Incentive Program calls for it to dispense the $25 million in tax breaks each year, to boost the state’s “super cluster” of medical device, pharmaceutical and biotech firms.
Jobs created as a result of the incentives must last at least five years, according to the terms of the deal, or the state can “claw back” the money. This year’s beneficiaries and the number of jobs they have committed to creating in 2011 are:
