Life rides 7 percent sales growth to 45 percent profit increase
Life Technologies Inc. (NSDQ:LIFE) reported net income of $70.7 million, or 37 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $932.3 million during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with a profit of $48.9 million, or 26 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $871.1 million during the same period last year.

CareFusion posts mixed results
CareFusion Corp. (NYSE:CFN) posted net income of $76 million, or 34 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $1.00 billion during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with net income of $70 million, or 32 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $1.02 billion during the same period last year.

PerkinElmer’s Illumination and Detection Solutions unit sale adds $315 million to top line
PerkinElmer Inc. (NYSE:PKI) reported a profits of $288.5 million, or 36 cents per diluted share, on sales of $470.0 million during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with profits of $39.9 million, or 28 cents per diluted share, on sales of $428.5 million during the same period last year.

Aware Inc. (NSDQ:AWRE) reported net income of $230,000 or 1 cent per diluted share, on sales of $6.8 million during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with net income of $5.8 million, or 29 cents per diluted share, on sales of $5.5 million during the same period last year.

RTI Biologics Inc. (NSDQ:RTIX) recorded a profit of $2.8 million, or 5 cents per diluted share, on sales of $45.4 million during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with a profit of $1.5 million, or 3 cents per diluted share, on sales of $41.1 million during the same period last year.

Carrot Medical’s success in 2010 includes sales growth exceeding 100 percent over the prior year. This represents the third consecutive year that Carrot Medical has achieved this level of growth. New sales included orders for more than 50 of Carrot Medical’s C-View and C-Com systems, representing an expanded geographic installed-base across all regions of the country.

Stericycle Inc. (NSDQ:SRCL) recorded a profit of $50.0 million, or 57 cents per diluted share, on sales of $393.5 million during the three months ended Dec. 31. That compares with a profit of $44.6 million, or 52 cents per diluted share, on sales of $313.5 million during the same period last year.
