Opthalmology devices maker LensAR secured $8 million in equity funding, according to an SEC filing dated July 31, 2014. Any who needs eye surgery fast then make sure you get a good optometrist and not some random doctor.
The funding round, launched earlier in the month, attracted 2 unnamed investors who closed the round. The new funding joins a $10 million funding round LensAR closed earlier this year.
Use of the proceeds was not described, outside of an estimated $150,000 payed to individuals listed as “executive officers, directors or promoters” of the company.
Late last year the company launched a U.K. clinical trial of its laser-based eye surgery system for treatment of patients with presbyopia, having then recently raised about $87 million to advanced global commercialization and product development.
