
Lantheus Medical Imaging Inc. tapped Dr. Dana Washburn to be its vice president of clinical development and medical affairs.
Washburn’s resumé includes stints as VP of clinical trials and safety and medical safety officer at Boston Scientific Corp. (NYSE:BSX). In his newly-created role at Billerica, Mass.-based Lantheus, Washburn will direct the clinical investigation of the company’s new imaging agents and lead the medical and safety support of its Definity, Ablavar, Cardiolite and TechneLite products. Washburn will also manage the clinical trials, safety and surveillance of marketed products and guide the company’s medical affairs department.

Before Washburn’s tenure at Boston Scientific, he was a cardiologist at the Framingham Heart Center and assistant director of the Cardiovascular Hemodynamic and Imaging Laboratory at Tufts-New England Medical Center, according to a press release.
